If you really want to get in touch with Mother Nature and explore the “real” Idaho in all its glory, then doing it on horseback is the only way. Camas County is amazing because of the diversity of our terrain – all made better when riding a horse. Relax and enjoy the wide open expanse of the prairie and views as far as the eye can see. Go up steep mountain trails and ridges or follow along meandering rivers and streams. You’ll find all different kinds of rides here in Camas County, all sure to take your breath away.
Because of our proximity to the Sawtooth National Forest, it is very popular to go on multi-day adventures by horseback. Take trails that connect you to the Sawtooth valley close to Smiley Creek and Stanley, or even head over to Ketchum if you know the way. Instead of huffing and puffing up a ridge let your horse do the work for you, and see some spectacular views. Stop for lunch, take some unforgettable photos, and head back down for dinner.
